John
J. Miller was born in Texas, raised in Oklahoma and California
where he graduated from Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo
. . . . . John Miller is a PRCA
World Champion Team Roper not once but twice. He is also the winner
of the prestigious National Finals Rodeo Average. John was an
original inductee into the Cowboy Hall of Fame when it opened
in 1980. He shares this honor with his Uncle, the world famous
Ben Johnson, who is not only a world champion but also the only
World Champion Cowboy to also win an Academy Award. The famous
family does not stop there. Also in the Hall of fame is John's
Grandfather, Ben Johnson Sr. ("Old Ben" as the family
calls him), who is also a World Champion and famous old time cowboy.
After
winning every possible title he could in rodeo roping across the
country, John decided to retire in his prime. He went into show
ring and won six American Quarter Horse World Championships and
still owns Ben Johnson's great horse Greylark, who holds the record
for the most points in the team roping in the AQHA history.
. . . . . In 1996 John was voted
"Horseman of the Year" in Arizona.
. . . . . In 1999, John was honored
by being elected to serve on the Historical Board of Directors
at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City.
Trey
is 22 and has won many titles already. Including National High
School Rodeo World Champion, Pro-Celebrity Champion, President
of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. When not in
school or on the rodeo trail, Trey helps John with teaching and
training.
